Sunday June 11:

Sunday, June 11. For the third year, THE NEW BARKER and Morgan Auto Group have partnered to host a Just One Day Adopt-A-Thon. We want to help shelters and rescue groups across Florida find forever homes for their adoptables.

Eleven dealerships are welcoming 21 groups into their showrooms. Come meet the volunteers and their adoptable dogs (+some cats) from: Florida Poodle Rescue | Pug Rescue of Florida | SPCA of Ocala (with special guest Molly). Also, Helping Hands Pet Rescue | Alachua County Humane Society | Second Chance Rescue & Rehoming, Inc | Gainesville Pet Rescue | E.A.R.S. Rescue | Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay | Furever Yours Pet Rescue | Husky Haven of Florida Inc. | Maxx & Me Pet Rescue | On the Wings of Angels Rescue | Pasco County Animal Services | Lost Angels Animal Rescue | Lake City Humane Society | Manatee County Animal Services | Tender Heart Charities Inc | Skyway Dachshund Rescue, Inc. | VIP Rescue Florida | Venice Doberman Rescue

Each of the dealerships will be collecting donations for our Pet Food Drive. We're asking for unopened bags or cans of dog or puppy food. Salespeople are pretty competitive and we're wondering...which dealership will collect the most dog/puppy food? We're working with TampaPets!org—No More Homeless Pets Hillsborough County and Tails Around Town to match the food donations.

So, if you're thinking about expanding your fur family, come in and meet the adoptables on Sunday, June 11 (pssst: we hear there will be some puppies...). Thank you to Brandon Honda, Honda of Ocala, Volkswagen of Gainesville, Gainesville Buick GMC, Honda of Gainesville, Ford of Port Richey, Toyota of Tampa Bay, Sun Toyota, MINI of Wesley Chapel, Rountree Ford, and BMW of Sarasota. We couldn't do this without you.

2016 - a TampaPets Year-Round Event

All-volunteer rescue groups struggle every day to provide for the needs of the dogs and cats in their care. They need food, treats, litter, formula, toys, beds, crates, cleaning supplies... you name it. This past fall, TampaPets helped gather and distribute over $36,000 worth of in-kind donations to rescue groups. This was through the Central Florida "elf" from the national Not A Monster campaign. It went so well that Central Bark Doggy Day Care has partnered with TampaPets and fellow signature sponsor, Shine Bright Realty, to become a permanent resource center.

These donations went to groups who attended our annual Woofstock events and we look forward to generating larger scale donations to the rescue community throughout the year. By early 2016 we will be able to offer ongoing adoption events so our community can meet and greet adoptable pets in a relaxed atmosphere that will encourage more adoptions, provide opportunities to get involved and generate additional financial support for rescue groups.

Items Needed for the Rescue Thrift Drive -
Member Wish List

All of our coalition members operate out of their own homes, providing foster care for thousands of dogs and cats every year. They are always in need of towels [gently used are okay], pet beds, bowls, dog crates, cat carriers, cat litter, kitten formula, toys, treats, office supplies, veterinary services and food. Please encourage your Vet to contact us about donating samples and your local Pet Store to think of us when they have broken bags - we will pick up and distribute donations to those in need. Contact Us if you can help.

These items can be dropped off at our new home, Central Bark, 14623 N. Nebraska Avenue, Tampa, FL 33613.

Monster Holiday Gift Drive to Help Homeless Pets

How can you help?

All-volunteer rescue groups struggle every day to provide for the needs of the dogs and cats in their care. They need food, treats, litter, formula, toys, beds, crates, cleaning supplies... you name it. Last year the Not A Monster campaign raised over $422,000 in contributions during it's third nationwide donation event. This year the goal is to grow that by an additional $250,000. You can help by dropping off your contribution to a participating retailer in the TampaBay area. These donations will be split between many rescue groups. Our main distribution center is at Central Bark Doggy Day Care but there are over 20 additional retailers participating and this list grows daily. Check our our latest partners; Carrollwood Copy Center, Pure Barre, Health Mutt and Circle of Life Animal Hospital. New and gently used items are welcome. Scroll down for all address locations. Thousands of pounds of product have already been collected and distributed to pets in need.

#GivingTuesday 12-1 donations will benefit our Monster Drive for Rescue. simply click this LINK and enter No More Homeless Pets in Hillsborough County in the search bar on Tuesday Dec. 1st. The PayPal Giving Fund is adding a bonus to all donations received on GivingTuesday.

Give Day

We now have a permanent location where we're busy planning Tampa Bay's first Rescue Center, designed to showcase available rescue pets on an ongoing basis. We're still raising donations to complete these projects and projecting we'll meet our goal in early 2016. All proceeds from Give Day will benefit this development project. Our gol is to create an additional 200 adoptions before the end of the year from this location and provide a center to distribute food and other physical donations to rescue groups.

Our wonderful hosts from Original Carrolwood Park have offered us their fantastic private park once again. Woofstock'15 will be held on Saturday, October 24th and there will be even more great activities and prizes this year. SAVE THE DATE! See Event Photo's

TampaPets Events in 2014

In 2014 we teamed up with Petfinder at the spring Tampa Pet Adoption Expo to spread the word about adopting your next best friend and with Grimaldi's Pizzeria to hold a series of Yappy Hours to raise big bucks and show off adoptable dogs for some of our long time rescue group members.

On November 1st, we had our giant adoption expo with dozens of rescue groups, events, prizes, live entertainment, and fun activities for families and their wonder dogs. OCP [Original Carrollwood Park], TampaPets, Groovy Cats & Dogs teamed up to provide a great family event filled with fun and the opportunity to meet your new best friend. EVENT PHOTOS
